Almost as good as my song, almost.
1)When Behind build Defensive Items. When you are loosing don’t follow your average build, most guides are working under the presumption that you are kicking shins and being 1337, unfortunately that is not how everything goes. When you see someone not doing well and giving up kills to characters (even more so when that person is you) build up defensive items. A, they are cheaper, B, you need to survive longer to do more damage to their team, and C, Building damage right away is only putting you further behind as you are simply trying to play catch up.
Let’s get an example;
In starcraft, you match up against somebody that is playing the same race as you. They do some early damage and begin to expand, you usually like to expand but they have their base up already. What should you do?
A) Continue your build usual build?
B)Counter attack?
C) Rage Quit?
A) You are now behind, you would simply be playing a step behind him as his expo is already ahead of yours and is now teching to higher levels, with more resorces and a higher worker count you will prolly continue to slip behind.
B) This would be an appropriate responce, if you have beaten off early pressure and saw that he was expanding now would be a good time to do damage, then take an expansion of your own. This will give you a chance to level the worker count and get caught up in resorces.
C) Only spoiled children rage quit, I sure you are not a spoiled child.
“Ah but Singed!” You say! And you don’t even have to finish because you are going to bitch about how that is starcraft and not lol and how there are tons of responses you can do.
So here is a LoL example.
You are soloing top (character is irrelivent) And two AP carries are dukeing it out, unfortunately your AP carry isn’t doing to well and keeps giving kills to theirs. This begins to snow ball into a heavy lead for the opponent, you have now loss all of your primary towers. Your income is lower then usual now and cannot venture out too far knowing this you;
A) Buy less expensive survival items corresponding to their biggest threat.
B) Buy More Expensive damage items in order to burst down their damage.
A) This is the answer for everyone with the exception of Tryndamere and your AD ranged carry. You simply will not survive long enough to make use of those items, as you are trying to catch up. Buying some bulky items then damage will help you level the playing field.
B)This is the answer for Tryndamere and Carries, Tryndamere because of his ultimate obviously. Carries for a different reason. If it gets to this point they are your saving grace. You protect them like a child until they are three shotting everything in site, (this is assuming your carry knows how to play a carry correctly)
2) Learn your Role. Now this is something you may think you know, and you may think I am slow for bringing it up, but something few players understand is that defining people by AP carry, Tank (hate that term), AD Carry etc. does not describe the proper way to play your character. So for this I prepose thinking of characters in a manor as follows; Initiators, Divers, Disruptors, and Carries.
(Just want to preface this that yes champions can cover multiple rolls)
A) The Initiator; These people are typically the ones designed and built to pick fights and start them, what most people call a tank (there is no tanking in Lol, that is an archaic term brought over from PvE games which have aggro systems and where damage can be focused, there are only two people that can really tank can entire team, Shen and Galio, even then, it’s not for the whole fight). Examples of initators are Malphite, Amumu, Alistar. Those three all have the ability to close a gap and cc a team to hurt their positioning and allow the better positioning of your team.
B) The Divers; these are characters with high surviveability, damage, and a gap closer to get in there and take out the opposing carries. Common Divers are Nocturne, Akali, Xin Zhao, and Irelia. They will stick to the carry and they will chase them out of the fight if left unchecked. Though a diver is able to initiate a skirmish, it is best to let the initiator do it, as carries deal quite a lot of damage, and taking those Alpha cool downs really take a toll on you.
C) The Disrupters; These are characters with a lot of utility on very short cool downs. Disrupters fall into two categories, Offensive and Defensive. Offensive Disruptors are the ones trying to lockdown the opposing threats, champions such as Blitzcrank, Morgana and Singed would fall here. While Defensive Disruptors have the main task of pealing divers off of the carry and keeping the team alive. These Characters are your supports, Sona, Jana, Soraka, Taric,
D) The Carry; This is your team’s treasure, you protect it and let it farm all game then let it spit up and chew out the opposing team for an easy win. These are champions with great scaleing and typically have some ability to allow them to do more damage i.e. Vayne, Corki, Ashe, Trist. Your job is to stay in a safe area and deal damage to who’m ever is closest. The biggest mistake a carry can make is going into the fight and diving an opposing carry. You need to stay back and deal damage to who you can, once characters start dieing and cds are used that is when you come in and do your job.
3) Learn your positioning. In League of Legends positioning is going to win or loose you your games. This is because loosing or even damaging one person before a fight can easily win the fight. Now each role should be taking up a different point in maneuvering.
A) The Initiator; This person should be on point. They are calling the shots. If they say b, you b, if they say push you push. When he goes in on a solid engage follow him in. He is infront soaking the damage and taking the alpha cooldowns and making it easier for the Divers and offensive disruptors to get in and do their jobs.
B) The Diver; As a Diver you are going to be manuvering around the fight trying to weasle your way into the opposing teams back field and causing havoc on their carry. Just be sure not to dive too far into them or to soon.
C) The Disrupters; Depending on the type of Disrupter you are will dictate where you are in the fight. For offensive Disrupters you are going to be trucking along in right after the initiator in order to cause as much discord as possible. Locking down the divers and allowing your carry to come in safely. As For Defensive, you typicaly want to stay back and toss in cc when your carry is in trouble, keeping divers off of them so they can melt their face.
D) The Carry, The easiest role to understand, yet so few do. YOu sit in back and you hit whatever you can reach. That is what you do. Don’t dive anyone, don’t go on the front lines, don’t do it. You are the one person on the team that should be a glass cannon, everyone else is centered around you doing your job. Just survive and mop up the fight, by staying as far away as you can while maximizing damage.
Alright I’m done for now, it’s late, so I’ll post something on the Decision makeing of pushing, side pushing and backing another time, good night!
masteroftoxins said: 1) Buy Void staff over Lichbane for the mpen, You will see a great increase in damage, 2) Grab cv if no one else is, haveing will help prevent unintentional feeding(sorry for ashe troll) 3) Keep a slot open to purchase wards, wards will win games.
1.) I thought…
From the ss, Scary targets are seemed Ryze and Leblanc both had banshees, cutting huge swaths in the damage. LB and Ryze are gonna try to get to your squishies, In an optimal situatuion (lol) you should be all set up in your turret nest with your team safely in it. You need to be peeling them off of your carry and nukeing them down.
2) From what I found form things like Kog and such, having ghost and flash won’t save me as much as a good cv or well placed exhaust. I feel that both can be dual purpose and need to be thought as a way to gain kills as well as a way to protect one’s self. Cv you can keep track of opposing junglers, mia’s, roamers, and try to coordinate good movement through the forest. It really can save a game, I can’t stress enough how important simple knowledge and vision is in a game. Sometimes giving up the ability to ghost and runaway is needed for exhausting that diver or clearing a grass with cv.
3) Once you get to the point where you can’t get out of your base it’s vital to ward the paths outside your wall and the closest brush, you can organised a gank and maybe a push if it’s successful enough. Elixers would have to sub for those last items,
4) It’s important to do what you feel comfortable, go with your gut, most of your decisions will be the right one. I couldn’t see the game, so I’m just offering what I can, you know heimie better then I do, do what you need.
A great and aching heart;
Wrung hands; and silence; and a long despair.
Life - what is life? Upon a moorland bare
To see love coming and see love depart
Thought I was going to post tghe song didn’t you?
One must know what lies within to truly be an asset on the battlefield.
As it is said here “For the lulz”
Am I really doing it wrong?
No I may not be the most high ELO player and by all means these have been a good few games, but I just had someone tell me my build was atrocious… because I bought Dorans and sold them off.
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?! Okay Im really confused. Not mad, just confused (so totally no one get mad, Im seriously curious about what to do in this situation to push my Heimer even further)
I watched Dan Dihn stack Doran’s Rings, then sell them off as he could afford something better for the situation.
No I dont have cooldown runes, but its either that or MP regen… Which is COMPLETELY situational. Heimer is, as I’ve noticed, VERY based on blue, which the game we lost we had an Anivia that was middle so of course they are going to get it. There’s litterally only so much I can do in that situation.
Even without Blue I can hold off, but the issue that it comes down to:
If I go cool down runes, I have no mana regen. If I have no mana regen, I can’t withstand fights or keep poking in lane. However, during battles sometimes Im a second too short for rockets that could verify a kill.
What do you guys think? I dont know. I am very serious about keeping Heimer my main (of course Im still learning others, but on another account so I dont feel too stupid being a low level, learning player) but Heimer is, litterally, my best buddy right now and when I have a good game it really shows.
Currently I do as follows:
Start with Dorans, HARASS LIKE A BOSS until 4 minutes in. If jungler, hang back and farm until I have to go back, poking with rockets. IF NO JUNGLER? Keep harassing insanely. (I can seriously piss off Brand and Orianna 9/10 times) Skill order I go Turret and/or Rocket > (whichever I didnt pick first time, pick now, Turret or Rocket), Rocket, Grenade, Turret, Turret, Ult, Turret til level 3 turret, Max out Rockets, Max out Grenade… MOSTLY. Sometimes Ill swap it up, especially if with a laning partner.First time I need to go back, If I dont have enough for a Needlessly large rod up front, I’ll buy one or two more Dorans and Boots, then come back, Lane until I have enough for needlessly (if I have a third and Im short, Ill sell one ring to get needlessly), rush deathcap, then get a survivable item. If the team is doing massive magic, I might skip a dorans and get a chalice sooner for the MP and MR.
Seriously, any extra tips would be great to know.
Ideal build currently that’s gotten me some great troll/kills:
Chalice, Deathcap, Hourglass, GA, Sorcerer boots, ________ <—- extra survivable or magic burst item (Rylias, Void Staff, Thorn Mail, Banshee, ETC)What do you guys think? Tips? HALP ME OUT?
Also any good guides for Rumble, Teemo, and Amumu out there? <3
Well Dorans stacking is strong but you also have to look at who you are laneing agains, I know you like to herass so 99% of the time Doran ring stacking may be best. Chalice is also nice, but that is always something you cna sell late game when yo dont have to sustain yourself as long. Really go whith what you know best which is that build. The only times I’d say go another route is going against someone with crazy sustain or herass where I’d suggest boots healthpots then into dorans. Either way your build is fine and don’t listen to the trolls.
((Rumble;
Tanky magic Pen seems to be best. Build im like you would Morde, start boots and hp, allows you to farm and stay in lane long enough, you more then likely will be soloing top as rumble, which means your opponents will more then likely be casters or crazy self sustainers. That is why you get all those hp pots Q first sheild second and one point in slow early on. After your revolver if you are doing well work on your rylais, if you are having troble you could go for a Spirit Visage, don’t sugtgest it though as your only regen comes from your revolver only. AFter your rylais you will want either AB scepter or GA, and just get tanky and some more AP, buying based on your foe. If you are just doing that well go ahead and make a death cap, though I don’t really like death cap on Rumble as I like tanky items with AP on him since I have to be in the fight. For Runes Mpen reds, preferance Yellows (I do Health per level though Im buying regen for morde so Ill try that) Ap per level blues, and Flat AP QUints. Masterise I like Mostly defence, since I go very offensive with my Runes, and like I said you have to be in there.
For Teemo I just copy pasta the Rainman’s guide; http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=658 it works really well mid game but tapers off early game, so you should still have a true carry.
As for Amumu, I only jungle with him, laneing is a pain as you have no ranged herass, no sustain, and take a valuble spot away that someone else could be filling. Runes: Mpen Reds (dont need this could go armor) Armor yellows, and magic res blues (could go cd or ap per level, but mpen (per level prefered) is good just to make you more tanky. Since I like Regrowth into philo I take 0/21/9 for my masteries, getting xp buff duration and damage reduction to the max. As for my build I get Philo boots and HoG, then just build to counter the biggest threats. Banshees, Sunfire, GA being my standard. Hog Into Randuins eventualy, and for boots I like merc treds or lucidity based on how much cc is on the other team, if I go lucid I change my Philo into the Tenacity Item, and if I go mercs, I usualy just sell it to buy something else.
I hope that helps)
Then the past few weeks I have tumbled all the way down to sub 950? What is this? Who are these people I get matched up with? These people criticize every move and never get together they are always split and trying to get them together is like herding large magnets into a tiny box! They over extend pick Tank dps champs with no cc as tanks make stupid friggen bans and won’t even listen to what you need! It’s not even like I can carry the team anymore because the other team just dives onto me again and again. My team’s carry seems to always be out of position when I’m not it and our divers refuse to go after the squishes and rather focus the tank. No one can jungle in this ELO, no one watches the map it’s just rediculous, it’s like I shouldn’t even bother playing Ranked Solo anymore since all I’m going to do is rage the entire time, and honestly it’s terrible.
The worst part is there is literally nothing you can do about it. Nothing. The only way I can see about doing this is getting Alistar every game and going dps. Because the only way you can win at this level of play is ccing and doing stupid amounts of damage. You literaly have to be up five kills before anyone will listen to you at all and even then there too busy spaming the chat with insults to consider working together. THere EPeens are at risk. Oh and god forbid ANYBODY buys a dam ward and leaves a slot open for it. The only people that should not have a slot open for wards? The Tank and the AD Carry thats it everyone else on the team needs to be warding(And even they should be warding until they have all their big items).
It’s like I’m playing with a bunch of retards. The player base is only getting bigger, since this is a free game there is nothing stopping trolls and people who ruin games. I would pay, that is right I would pay for a Premium Que. I love this game I hate the people that play it though.
I AM LOOKING FOR A DUO QUE PARTNER, I CAN PLAY SORAKA,TARIC,ALISTAR,LEONA,JUNGLE AMUMU, VAYNE, ASHE, TRISTANA. I can play a few other champs poorly and I need to work on my jungling. But I need help guys I need a partner. My ingame name is Marcinius add me or talk to me here.
You know it’s Leona Free Week when you see them lack gold per five items,
You know it’s Leona Free Week when they strive to take very last kill from everone else on the team,
You know it’s Leona Free Week when she nukes down your carry’s farm,
You know it’s Leona Free Week when she E’s into a 5v2 and foams at the mouth when you don’t engage.
Leona players you are a support tank, not a dps, not an ap carry. Your job is to sit there and be aggresive in bottom lane so the person you are babysitting can get kills and farm to their pleasure. You are a cc factory with great armor and mr from your w. Get your Philo, HoG, and Kage’s passive farm and get tanky. Take command and get your team to follow you around as you intiate. Peel people off your carry after the team starts, you are a good diver yes but you lack the damage to put hurt on carries like true divers can.
As for you Wukongs get in there back line and fuck around with there squishies and don’t run away when you are at 3/4 health.
